This is hysterical!
This is a church is Little Hope, Texas. The sign sits on a main road between Tyler and Canton…I don’t think they have a lot of weddings there!
I was married there … 19 years ago. Worshiped there for several years. Beautiful place and beautiful people. It is named for the community, not for a lack of hope in the Lord. Google the story of the Little Hope communities … there are several in Texas … fascinating story.
There was a Little Hope Baptist Church in Clarksville, Tennessee for many years. They recently changed pastors and changed their name to Living Hope Baptist Church, but it is still located on Little Hope Road.
There are some names that have the potential to communicate negative impressions. The important consideration is how an unbeliever responds to these names. As believers we must be willing to defer to the lost people we’re attempting to reach. Jerm 29:11
Makes sense. I’d dread being a newly – ordained minister, assigned to Little Hope Church.
My father served as pastor there during the 1970s. It was a wonderful experience in a beautiful country setting
I have lived in Little Hope Community all of my life. So proud of how the community and Church has helped people in need all these years. I have been a member of Little Hope Baptist Church for 56 yrs. and love the fellowship and worship I have had all these years.
I grew up in Little Hope Baptist Church and I wouldn’t have it any other way. A small and beautiful country church. I fully intend to get married there one day. You only need a little hope if its placed in Jesus!
Sadly, this church was burnt to the ground, by arsonists, in 2010. I had driven by twice around 2001, and snapped a pic of the sign. I have no idea whether the congregation has rebuilt the church.
Yes sir Mr.Munn the church has been rebuilt & is reaching out to help the lost souls in our area. I can’t understand what went through the 2guys minds that burned several churches in east Texas, or those who attack a church with their tounges.I pray for healing
